a shabby box, a new cloche & a winner

i don't usually do garage sales, but i'll always visit one put on by a Church.
you never know what you might find.
i could have bought more, but am seriously trying to declutter.
i did purchase some books for my girls and this great old pink shabby box!
i love the colour and all that rusty metal ware.
who knows what i'll use it for, but for $1 it doesn't really matter!
when i got home, i saw this written on the inside.
'Jaimiee's treasure Box'
oh bless!

well now it's Kate's Treasure Box ;)

i also treated myself this week to a new glass 'French Country' cloche.
it was on a ridiculous special and such a nice size.
the hard part is deciding where it will live,
and what will live under it.
i am going to visit a fete up the road later today,
as well as a car boot sale straight after my market trawl tomorrow morning.

hopefully there are more treasures waiting for me!
oh and the winner of my giveaway is a local gal this time!
the winner is dabeier68!
enjoy the weekend everyone ;)

1st bloggy anniversary & a little giveaway :)

hello my lovelies :)
today is my 1st anniversary since the start of my blog!!
very exciting!
can't hardly believe i have 172 fabulous followers!
i just wish i could meet you all!!
this stunning vase arrived in the mail today. i won it on eBay. it's the biggest
milk glass piece i own to date! i adore the hankerchief/ruffled top and hobnail design.

i want to have to have a little giveaway to celebrate!
i'm not giving away my vase (ha ha) but would like to giveaway these two things below to someone :)

1. :i have made this cute little bunting out of recycled paper,
laminated it and tied it together with natural twine.
it's 1.85m from flag to flag.
2. : this sweet pink "create" sign. prop it up against a shelf or hang on a wall.
so, if you are one of my wonderful followers, or want to become one, leave a comment
and you're in the draw!!
i have lots listed on eBay. click on my eBay button to see what's there!

YARD sale success!

well i'm absolutely exhausted, but it has been a great morning!
i sold lots of lovely things to some lovely people.

it was so great to meet a few of my sweet followers,
including Cas from Peaches and Maple, her friend Vicki
and Trish from Spring Blossom. Pop over and visit them at their
gorgeous blogs! they are just the nicest girls, i i really
hope to meet up with them again sometime!
those things that didn't sell will go on eBay so keep a
lookout for a bargain! i hope to get it all listed in the next week,
so keep a check by clicking on my eBay button on the right hand side bar.
a friend was throwing out her old cot (after 5 babies!)
so i turned it into a shabby french looking day/toddler bed.
it served as a perfect prop for all my pretty linen :)

vintage sideboard

this divine vintage sideboard got the "Antique White" treatment.
and i am so thrilled with the end result.
i love the sweet pie crust mirror. i was able to slide it out, which made painting
alot easier.
i often paint over the original hardware rather than replace it. sanding back
the metal handles shows the detail off too.
great storage.

i covered the piece of glass in the centre cupboard door with fabric
to hide whatever is stored inside.

what a cute country cottage piece it is now!
see it's cute bun feet??

white curvy table

bi adore these curvy old tables with queen anne legs,
and this one would definitely be a keeper if i had the spot for it.
it's been painted in the same colour as this table.
how pretty is that scrolly edge?
a favourite made over piece for sure.
i found this super large white ironstone platter in an
op shop for $4. great for presenting a yummy roast dinner,
or for displaying candles and flowers.

yep, that's ugly!
for sale at my YARD sale come Saturday.

mini makeovers & Granny's Rose

when i lost my Granny, i took one of her rose bushes home.
i haven't grown roses before, so was a bit nervous about keeping it alive!
so far so good.
the other day, this most spectacular rose bloomed.
it's the first one i've dared to cut.
the scent was amzing too.
it was really Grandpa that tended to the garden, but i associate other
things to his memory.
i have been busy getting things ready for my YARD sale next Saturday morning,
and have made over a couple more things to add in.

this chair is looking alot more funky now that it has been dressed in this
fabulous vintage fabric!
just look at the vibrant colours!
i had to cover the back too. not the neatest job in the world,
but i'm happy with the overall outcome.
this solid pine table got a beachy bathroom look.
i'm a big fan of bubble baths, and like to have somewhere to
hold candles, creams and oils so they are within easy reach.
this little table is the perfect size and height i think.

both these items will be for sale on Saturday. i'm very much looking
forward to meeting some of my lovely followers!

Large Vintage Suitcase

i am really loving these old vintage suitcases lately, and I see that alot of you do too!
i found the smaller one that you may have seen in this post here at the markets.
the larger one was found on eBay.
they have only had a couple of coats of paint, as i don't want to hide all the imperfections
that come with these vintage lovelies.
they are great for storage anywhere.
and this one holds heaps! it's HUGE!
i decided that they can live here for now.
this is how the top of the cupboard once looked.
the mirror was is also a recent market find. love it's
pretty art deco shape. the bird cage mirror has gone to live in Emily's room.

white daisies in my one and only mason jar.
