Thailand- complete with a tsunami alert!

sawadeka!! that's hello in Thai!
we are back from an amazing 2 weeks in beautiful Thailand.
i have so missed blogging and well as following you all, so thought
the cute print above (found at the markets this morn for 50 cents!)
was perfect for my opening pic for this post!

here is just a handful of pics taken while we were away.
the girls enjoying the roof top pool at the 1st resort we stayed in.
fragrant frangipanis
view over private pool
there were many cocktails to be had
more flower beauty
we spent a magical 3 nights on Long Beach Phi Phi Island

more breathtaking views
swimming in the warm waters
lolly pink hibiscus
being very brave here and letting the fishies clean our feet!
(and sweating bucket loads!!)
shopping!!!!
i just couldn't keep away from those aqua Tiffany boxes!
on August 11th, Wednesday afternoon, we stopped off to get henna tattoos.
minutes later, people were running from the beach.
no one would tell us what was going on.
we ran to the nearest tuk tuk (taxi) and were told there had been an earthquake
and that a tsunami alert had been raised.

our lovely tuk tuk driver Ot, took us up high where we waited....
and watched the calm waters, wondering what on earth was going to happen
by 8:30pm, we were safely back in our resort room,
counting our blessings!!

our last afternoon in Thailand was spent meeting and riding
these gorgeous creatures
it was the perfect end to a super holiday!

within 24 hours of arriving home, i had all the washing done, and was
back in the garage painting! oh how i missed my painting!
i have a couple of projects on the go, so will be back to show them off soon!

  3. I was only wondering where you have been and now I know. Looks like a fabulous holiday. You were brave with the feet cleaning and the T warning probably wan't much fun. But that Tuk Tuk driver is typical of the lovely people that make up Thailand, beautiful place that it is
